Fishing

The opportunities to go fishing in both saltwater and freshwater, was one of the big deciding factors when I was choosing a country in South America to buy property. And boy am I glad I chose Peru!

As a ‘digital nomad’ and ‘expat’ living in Peru, I have more time to go fishing. And I have easy access to both the coastline and to Puerto Maldonado in Peru’s amazon rainforest to go fishing. But it’s fishing in Peru’s amazon rainforest that I prefer!

If you love fishing, then fishing in Tambopata and the Madre de Dios region of Peru is something you simply can’t miss while visiting the country. You can catch everything from small piranha through to massive ‘paiche’ (arapaima)!
